Cho Kyu-sung (25-Midtjylland) is making his mark as a ‘K-League’ goal-scorer as he settles in perfectly after three games in Denmark.
He started the Danish Superliga’s 2023-24 second-round match against Silkeborg at the MCH Arena in Herning, Denmark, on Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET and scored his second goal of the season in a 2-0 victory.
Cho’s club, Midtjylland, have won two straight games (6 points) after opening the league.
Cho, who started as the top frontline striker in a 4-2-3-1, scored his team’s second goal of the match just before halftime with an assist from Christopher Olsson.
On a counterattack opportunity, Olsson broke down the right flank. He sprinted down the center of the field toward the opposing goal, where Olsson saw him and stabbed the ball.
As soon as he received Olsson’s pass, Cho took a non-stop right-footed shot with a defender in front of him. With a quick glance at the opposing goalkeeper, he placed a low shot into the left corner of the goal.
His second goal of the season. Cho took off his headband and ran to the stands where the away fans were cheering.
After scoring his debut goal with a header against Hvidore in the league opener on Sept. 22, Cho has now scored in two consecutive games.
The goal earned Cho the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and a spot in the league’s Best 11 on his debut.
He also played 45 minutes against Progress Niederkorn (Luxembourg) in the first leg of the UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) second qualifying round for the 2023-2024 season on Nov. 27, solidifying himself as a starter for the third consecutive game. 스포츠토토
