Alnasr defeats Istiklol 3-1 in ACL Group E second leg

By Youngho Lee = ‘Superstar’ Cristiano Ronaldo finally scored on his Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League (ACL) debut to lead Al-Nasr to a second straight win.

Al-Nasr came from behind to beat FC Istiklol (Tajikistan) 3-1 in their 2023-2024 ACL Group E second leg at Al-Awal Park in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday (March 3), thanks to an equalizer from Ronaldo and a brace from Andersson Talisca.

With their second straight group win, Al-Nasr (6 points) stayed on top of the group ahead of Persepolis (3-1-1-1), who defeated Alduhail (Qatar – D1-L1) 1-0 on the day.

With a 1-1 draw, Istiklol (D1) are level on points with Alduhail but last on goal difference.

The first goal belonged to Istiklol.

In the 44th minute, Senin Sevai found the back of the net with his right foot from just outside the penalty area after winning the ball in midfield from Janis Besanovic.

After going into halftime 0-1, Alnasr equalized in the 21st minute of the second half, with Ronaldo the star of the show.

Ronaldo received a through ball from Abdulrahman Gharib and struck a left-footed shot from the left side of the penalty area.

However, the ball was blocked by a defender’s tackle and spilled out, allowing Ronaldo to quickly slot home a left-footed shot from the left side of the goal area to equalize.카지노
