‘That was a really good pitch by Hyun-jin Ryu’.

The Toronto Blue Jays were robbed to the bone by the Texas Rangers. They gave up 26 runs in three days and lost three straight. They’re on the brink of a four-game sweep and have fallen out of the fall baseball standings.

Toronto was swept 10-0 by Texas on Thursday at Rogers Centre in Canada. It was a reminder of how good Ryu Hyun-jin was on the 13th, when he got a quality start against a strong Texas lineup.

On the 12th, they lost 4-10. Chris Bassitt, who has been the ace of the rotation all season, gave up five runs in 5 1/3 innings. On the 14th, Yusei Kikuchi, who has been a stalwart of the rotation this season, was let down. Kikuchi gave up six runs in five innings to take the loss.

Ryu threw a six-inning, three-run quality start against Texas on April 13. A combination of batting silence and bullpen collapse meant that Ryu couldn’t keep his team from losing.

Over the course of the three games, Texas got all of its starters to pick up wins and Toronto got all of its starters to take losses.

Toronto will host Texas for a midweek four-game series from April 12-15. Prior to this series, Toronto was second in the American League wild card standings. Texas was in fourth place, 1.5 games behind Toronto. The postseason could go as high as third.

Texas swept Game 3. The positions of the two teams quickly reversed. As of the 14th, Texas is in second place and the Seattle Mariners are in third. Toronto has fallen to fourth place. They are one game back of Seattle and 1.5 games back of Texas.

If Toronto were to drop a game four on the 15th and get swept, the margin would increase to 2.5 games. Seattle is also two games back if they win out. It’s not an insurmountable gap, but it’s a tricky ride with 16 games left in the 20-game season. Toronto is in the position of needing to take 15 games at all costs.스포츠토토

Toronto sends out another ace in Kevin Gausman. He’s 11-8 with a 3.28 ERA. But Texas has a mountain to climb with their ace, Nathan Eovaldi. Iboldi is 11-4 with a 2.90 ERA.
