The Kiwoom Heroes, who narrowly escaped a nine-game losing streak the day before, fell to last place.
On the 10th, only one game between the Lotte Giants and Kiwoom Heroes was played at the Gocheok Sky Dome, as the Samsung Lions-Dusan Bears (Jamsil), NC Dinos-SSG Landers (Incheon), Hanwha Eagles-KT WIZ (Suwon), and LG Twins-KIA Tigers (Gwangju) were canceled due to the effects of Typhoon Kanun, which brought strong winds and heavy rain.
Kiwoom lost an 8-12 home game against the Lotte Giants of the KBO Baseball 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL on Tuesday at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.
Kiwoom’s winning percentage dropped to 0.416 (42 wins, 59 losses, and 3 draws), and the loss left them 10th in the league behind the Samsung Lions (0.417 winning percentage), who did not play that day due to rain.
This is the first time in 835 days since April 27, 2021 that Kiwoom has been at the bottom of the standings.
As a result, the second half of the KBO is shaping up to be a two-powered (LG, SSG), quintuple (kt, NC, Doosan, KIA, Lotte), and triple (Hanwha, Samsung, Kiwoom) affair.
Lotte fought off a relentless Kiwoom rally on the day, scoring runs in each of the fifth through ninth innings to solidify its bid to stay in the middle of the pack.

On the mound, Han Hyun-hee (four runs in four innings) struggled, but Koo Seung-min (1⅔ scoreless innings) came on as a fireman in the bottom of the sixth.
Kiwoom took the early lead.
Leadoff hitter Lee Yong-kyu tripled to right-center and scored on Kim Hye-sung’s grounder.

With the bases loaded, Jeon drove a two-seam fastball from Kiwoom bullpen Yang Hyun over the left field fence for a two-run arch.

With runners on first and second, Kim Hui-jip’s hard-hit ball dropped between the Lotte shortstop and outfielder, allowing both runners to cross the plate.
Gilsera Lotte got back on the board in the top of the sixth when Ahn Chi-hong hit a solo shot to left field.
The threat came again in the bottom of the sixth.
Kiwoom Yong-kyu’s fly ball was not caught by center fielder Kim Min-seok. It was the rookie’s first error in the KBO.
On top of that, reliever Kim Sang-soo was pulled after just ⅓ inning due to left calf pain.
Fortunately, Koo Seung-min, who took over, struck out Kim Hye-sung and got Lim Byung-wook to fly out to end the inning.스포츠토토
